EDDIE WALKER £8.00 £6.00 (students)
Venue - BELLINGHAM GOLF CLUB
Tel. (01434) 221235 for reservations
A veteran of five decades on the British and International Folk Circuit Eddie Walker presents a heady mix of American Roots styles from old folk blues and ragtime to western swing and hillbilly country. Well recognised for his 60s/70s singer and songwriter contemporary folk style...for the last 30 years he’s taken his professional career far and wide featuring the traditional music of Jimmie Rodgers, Blind Willie McTell, Mississippi John Hurt, and Doc Watson to name but a few, as well as covering his heroes Steve Goodman and John Prine that he touched base with first time around nearly 40 years ago. The common factor that sits with all this music where he is concerned is the acoustic guitar and all it has to offer as the finest of accompanying instruments played to a level of expertise that is both charming and dynamic. Be prepared to be fully entertained! Oh and loud shirts and smart hats are mandatory too...even in the audience!

This wonderful folk duo from Devon charmed us with a few of their songs earlier in the year. They are rapidly becoming well known on the UK folk club and festival circuit. Tonight they return in their own right to present an evening of superbly crafted self-written songs together with fine interpretations of English folk song.
“Terrific. Good songs well sung...I kept hearing things – Incredible String Band, Nick Drake, John Martyn – lots of stuff and yet at the same time the music is very much their own...very very good”.
